CMATD is an ATD CI Preapproved Provider

CMATD is pre-approved to offer professional development points for APTD and CPTD credential holders and candidates.

CMATD Chapter Programs have been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute for continuing education credits towards professional development hours for recertification of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials.

  • Pre-approved providers may calculate the number of hours based on the above formula at .5 per 30 minutes of instruction or request verification by submitting a timed agenda to recertification@td.org.
  • The program content must be related to talent development as defined by the ATD Capability Model. See www.td.org/capability-model for details.
  • Approval and credits are awarded based on the educational time spent on talent development-related activities at the rate of one point per physical hour.
  • Meals, breaks, networking, and non-talent-development-related activities will not be counted toward educational time.
  • Attendees will be responsible for obtaining proof of attendance and reporting the appropriate hours earned for programs where attendance is not taken at each session (eg: conferences).

Central Massachusetts ATD is hosting a study group for current CPTD candidates pursuing certification.

    Details

    • This will be a rolling 13-week schedule, where you can join anytime depending on your goal, and just continue.
    • The schedule will repeat every 13 weeks, so join whenever is best for you and your specific goals.
    • We meet on Tuesdays from 7 - 9 over Zoom.

If you have any questions, you can email prodev@tdcentralmass.org.

Cost: $50 USD for non-members and general public, $35 to Central Massachusetts ATD members and chapter affiliates

    What To Expect:
The study group sessions are typically structured as follows:

    • 13 weekly sessions focused on the three capability areas
    • The virtual (Zoom) study group sessions are meant to supplement your independent study. The sessions provide a chance to reinforce knowledge through discussion, clarification of key points, shared resources, and key test taking strategies. Each study group session is moderated by one or more facilitators from the CMATD chapter
    • This group is a great way to keep accountable and also get encouragement!
    • Most sessions will count as 1 hour of Professional Development towards meeting the certification requirements (announced at the start of each session)
    • Certified CPTDs and experts in the capability areas may be scheduled as guest speakers during an individual study group session.

    Study Materials:

No study materials are provided specifically from this study group.  We are using the Talent Development Body of Knowledge (TDBok) as the group textbook and all members should have access.  TDBok is now free to all ATD national members.

This interactive program is designed for trainers and coaches who specialize in leadership, communication, or teamwork. It introduces a simple yet powerful model based on four core communication styles. You will learn practical strategies to enhance connection and engagement—especially with challenging trainees.

Through use of this model, trainers will see how to help leaders: increase clarity, reduce misunderstandings, and foster stronger workplace connections—leading to higher engagement, productivity, and retention. When communication styles go unrecognized, misinterpretation and frustration can derail a team. This program equips trainers with the tools to bridge communication gaps, adapt their delivery, and help their own learners become more effective communicators and leaders.

Trainers (and later their learners) will gain insights into and practical strategies to:

    • Recognize and respond to diverse communication styles for stronger engagement.
    • Correct Misinterpretations – Understand how they may be misreading others
    • communication and behavior.
    • Clarify Their Own Communication – Identify ways their style may cause confusion or frustration for others.
    • Strengthen Connections and Engagement – Tailor their approach to build rapport and improve communication.
    • Interactive discussions will highlight these style differences and provide opportunities to explore practical application back on the job.

    Special Bonus:

All participants who keep their cameras on (mostly) will be able to sign up to take the assessment for free at the end of the program and receive a personalized report about their communication style.

Important Note: 90 minute session with no separate networking period.

Alan Krieger is a highly skilled leadership trainer and executive coach with over 30 years experience strengthening communication, collaboration, and performance within teams and organizations. He has worked with businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits, equipping leaders with essential people skills that drive success.

As the creator of the T.E.A.M. Communication Styles®, Alan developed this powerful tool to demonstrate that there is no single “right” way to communicate, lead, or train. T.E.A.M. helps individuals recognize how their communication style may clash with others—and how to adjust for best results. Over the past 20 years, Alan has used T.E.A.M. to train more than 5,000 leaders and team members, empowering them with practical, actionable strategies for workplace success. With a Master’s in Management and 40+ training programs designed, he is now bringing T.E.A.M. to trainers, coaches, and organizations looking to elevate their impact and effectiveness.
