    Leading in a Culture of Purpose and Learning


    Cultures that are aligned with the purpose of the organization develop confident employees leading to superior business performance. Many leaders and managers do not establish a clear, consistent, aligned culture that inspires high commitment to the organization’s purpose. Where organizational culture is key to unlocking your organization’s greatest potential, leading with respect is the key to building a culture of growth and learning.

    For many of us, personal growth has been and continues to be a priority as we work to improve our capabilities and responsibilities through our careers. It is essential, particularly in this uncertain world, to create a clear purpose and personal growth in organizations that are looking to transform to an environment of full engagement. 

    In this program, we will discover the four factors of organization culture, and take a deep dive into the leadership mindset and behaviors that catapults employee growth and learning. Leading with respect is essential to developing confident and capable employees and superior business performance. L&D professionals can use a problem solving and continuous improvement mindset as a catalyst to create a climate of learning and development. L&D professionals using this model to provide a roadmap for managers to grow the business more effectively.      


    • Learn a culture model which provides a framework for purpose, leadership, continuous improvement, and business process clarity

    • Introduce behaviors of leaders who Lead with Respect 

    • Discuss approaches for maximizing the wisdom of front-line workers

    Presenter Bio

    Hugh McGill - Hugh is Founder of Powerful-Results a company which supports culture change and leadership development. Hugh partners with front-line managers to maximize the potential of their teams.  He started his career as a production line operator. Over the past 50 years, he has held senior leadership positions in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Food and Paper industries, in Manufacturing, Human Resources, Change Management and Organizational Development. He has experienced many cultures and learned from the cultures which have given people real purpose for going to work, personal growth and organizational success. His focus today is supporting businesses which recognize the essential aspect of maximizing the human potential. Hugh has taught in Leadership Graduate Degree programs at Northeastern University and Cambridge College. He is a member of the Boston Facilitators Roundtable, Association of Talent Development and ACMP.

    It used to be that to implement augmented and virtual reality (XR-Cross Reality) in corporate learning, you had to go BIG or go home. The cost, deployment, and device requirements meant that too many decision-makers simply went overlooked this innovative learning modality. 

    But time flies in technology. Advances in XR have come fast and furious. Simultaneously, a worldwide pandemic and social justice reckoning have increased the need for next-level virtual learning. As the technology is more accessible and research showing virtual reality (VR) training leads to improved outcomes in empathy building and inclusion, it becomes clear. At this moment, XR is not only for Learning & Development visionaries, it’s for pragmatists. 

    In this program, Brian Boyle, founder of CrossTrainer Learning and Heather Boyle, M.Ed, will overcome common objections to implementation and discuss how AR and VR as learning technologies are both practical and impossible to ignore.

    Brian Boyle is a training designer, technologist, and founder of the award winning CrossTrainer®. For over 20 years he's shared his future focus, graphic vision and learning design perspective to create innovative and engaging training across multiple industries, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, retail and more. In recent years, Brian has focused on designing mixed reality products that deepen learning experiences. In 2019, Brian’s TEDx talk “VR Therapy: Unlocking the Potential of VR” paved the way for a new line of patient-facing CrossTrainer health care applications. Brian lives in southeastern MA with his wife and 2 young daughters.


    Heather Forbes Boyle believes that learners are customers and customers are learners. With a professional background in sales and an education in Instructional Design, excellent customer service is at the core of Heather's learning solutions. As CrossTrainer's Business Development Director, Heather is a combination learning consultant, communication strategist and client service specialist. Heather holds a BS in Organizational Communication from Providence College, and an M.Ed. in eLearning and Instructional Design with a concentration in Adult and Organizational Learning from Northeastern University. She lives in a suburb of Providence, RI with her husband, two young daughters and two spoiled cats. To Heather, selling is helping and when it comes to selling learning, she's certain there's no greater truth.
