Please join us in a discussion of the basic concepts and practical skills that are used in the strategic planning process. Topics will include the importance and benefits of strategic planning as well as specific principles for how to do it well, useful tools and best practices for implementation, and suggestions for how to make the process become more meaningful, alive, and achievable. Participants will be encouraged to share their own successes and challenges from their current organization or experiences.
Marsha currently serves as the Senior Assistant to the Vice Chancellor at the University of Massachusetts Boston. In this role, she oversees budgets and strategic planning initiatives as well as organizational management and professional development for the division. She also serves as a liaison various departments across the university and serves on numerous university committees.
Marsha started her career as a secondary teacher and has held numerous positions in educational leadership and school reform. From 2004-10, she was an Executive Director at the charter management company, EdisonLearning, supporting school districts across the country. Her background includes over 20 years as an adjunct professor, school district/higher education administrator, and consultant. She advises on and provides training and coaching in the strategic and operational aspects of management, leadership, and organizational effectiveness.
